An Illustrated History of 151 Video Games: A detailed guide to the most important games; explores five decades of game evolution

This book is very good. I was raised in the 80s since I have came to be in 1981. Video gaming have always played a role during my life but mainly up through my early 20s. I still own and play the latest games (X-box One) but actual life gives me little time. Regardless of this, I love to carry on with with a few video game news, donate to magazines, etc. These activities have waned considerably within the last few year or two but nevertheless I like video game history and a book such as this is right up my alley. I will take my time reading it in small 5-20 minute sessions (i will not go into any longer detail than that) and there's a huge amount of information to read. A whole lot i shall likely skip so I would ike to arrive at my review to spell out why and the thing I like.

What I Love:

1) Everyone loves all pages and posts specialized in almost every console. They provide back stories on development, provide images and even factoids in the pages. It's all great stuff but might be done better and so I'll enter into that down below where I discuss shortcomings.

2) I love all of the great, good quality art, graphics and screen shots. The page designs and layouts are awesome. I wouldnot have got it if it was pretty much a lot of text; i am a sucker for pictures!

3) I like the in-depth reviews and information about the favorite and meaningful games at that time. I'm sure the rear story on plenty of this but there's certainly plenty of developmental details I did not.

4) I favor the annals of everything when you look at the book. It's even more of a brief history and fact-heavy form of a book than a memory or just review of what certain game consoles or games are like. I favor this approach and so the book is very good for the reason that regard!

The Art of Video Games: From Pac-Man to Mass Effect

Video gaming has always been an part that is enormous of life. Some of my fondest childhood memories were formed with a controller at your fingertips. Back in those days video games were aesthetically limited by the processing energy of that time period. No fictional universe had been explored before despite that, I was still able to have rich and immersive story experiences as I dove into exciting new worlds in ways. As I spent my youth, so did gaming. Now the medium permits beautiful artistic and artwork that is audio compliment the stories that designers are attempting to tell. This book does a wonderful job of chronicling that transition. With stunning visuals and developer/designer that is highly insightful, I have always been able to flip through and be consistently amazed at the revolution that is taking place each day on the market. Beyond education, the book has changed the way in which I game. Since picking it up I find myself appreciating the games I play more than I ever th...

The Ultimate History of Video Games: From Pong to Pokemon--The Story Behind the Craze That Touched Our Lives and Changed the World

At first whenever I had this book I was thinking it might be just a bullet listing of chronological events that were held in the video gaming industry, since that is how the beginning of the book is outlined. (Kindle edition) BUT and that's a big but - Steve dives into more of the annals of this enterprise of this evolution associated with the video gaming movement and we also because the reader are awakened through his words. Great job and a fine addition to anyone's library that is enthusiastic about this sort of industry. Seriously any video gamer who has a passion for history will cherish this book. As a vintage gamer, i must say i remember nearly all of those moments but didn't knew how exactly it began.   Pro: Perfect for gamers Nice interviews (Comments) Quite long   Cons: It could be great if it included some pics or at least links If you’re looking for top recommended product, then The Ultimate History of Video Games: From Pong to Pokemon--The Story Behind the Craz...

The Witcher 3 screenshots show Geralt in 4K

Character models are fantastic. The environments look pretty bad in comparison. For example; the trail from the first screenshot looks quite poor. All screenshots show a lack of quality within the environment textures though. source
